Summer is here and the Palm Desert Aquatic Center is the Coachella Valley’s coolest place to beat the heat.
A multitude of swimming opportunities and activities are available at the Aquatic Center. Get some serious exercise in during lap swim hours, or enjoy some family fun time during recreational swim hours. Through August 13, recreational swimming is available six days a week: Tuesday – Thursday, 11 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., and Friday – Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.
The Aquatic Center’s popular diving boards and slides, plus the new climbing wall and rope swing are available during recreational swim time. The Aquatic Center’s concession stand is open during those hours as well, offering refreshing treats and savory snacks. Families or groups needing a little more space can inquire about renting out the facility’s Multipurpose Room.
For a different kind of fun, the Palm Desert Aquatic Center has brought back its popular Dive-In Movies this summer. The whole family can relax poolside while enjoying Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on July 14, Surf’s Up on August 11, plus a movie to be announced on September 2. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. each night, with the film beginning at dusk. Select pool areas will be open, and slides will be open from 7:30 – 8 p.m. only. Onsite food trucks will sell snacks and treats. With limited seating poolside, guests are encouraged to bring towels for the lawn areas. No outside chairs or furniture, food, or beverages (except bottled water in plastic containers) are allowed.
