Cinema Culturas: Festival in the Fields
October 7, 2019 - October 12, 2019
Great films often tell stories that inspire people to be part of a vibrant community and provoke thoughtful dialogue. Cinema Culturas’ Festival in the Fields is a six-day film festival that seeks to represent the Hispanic community, particularly migrant workers in the Coachella Valley, and will highlight three themes: education, health, and immigration. While the focus of Cinema Culturas’ is on the promotion of Hispanic cultures, the festival supports diverse multicultural spaces and all programs and activities are open to all.
Cinema Culturas collaborates with Mexico’s Institute of Cinematography and the University of California Institute for Mexico and the United States (UCMEXUS) to bring to Southern California the best of Mexican cinematography and co-productions with other Latin American countries and Europe.
