Palm Desert Independence Day Fireworks Display

July 4, 2021 @ 8:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Free
Fireworks display at Palm Desert Civic Center Park

The City of Palm Desert will mark our nation’s independence on Sunday, July 4, 2021 with fireworks and food trucks at Civic Center Park.

The evening starts with welcoming remarks and the presentation of the flag. At 9 p.m. the sky will light up with a spectacular 20-minute-long fireworks display synchronized to patriotic-themed songs simulcast on radio stations The Mix 100.5 FM and 98.5 The Bull.

Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic dinners, blankets, and chairs to enjoy the show. Since there will be no live music concert at this year’s event, people are also encouraged to disperse throughout the 70-acre park to find a comfortable spot to enjoy the fireworks. The music that accompanies the fireworks will be audible throughout the park.

A variety of food trucks and vendors will be on hand with tasty treats. Alcoholic beverages, smoking, and portable barbeques are prohibited. Private fireworks are illegal in Civic Center Park and throughout Palm Desert. Flashlights are recommended for safely exiting the park.

To protect public safety during the holiday celebration in the busy park, golf carts will not be allowed to operate inside park grounds on July 4. The dog park in Civic Center Park will also be closed that day. Masks, hand sanitizer and hand-washing stations will be put in place for people who would like to take advantage of these safety measures.

A warm welcome is extended to Indian Wells residents. Palm Desert thanks the City of Indian Wells for helping to defray some of the costs of this year’s celebration.

Civic Center Park is located at 73510 Fred Waring Drive (Fred Waring and San Pablo Avenue). San Pablo Avenue between Magnesia Falls Drive and the entrance to College of the Desert will be closed beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 3. Other road closures around the park, including Magnesia Falls Drive, are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. on July 4. Parking will be allowed at the park until 6 p.m. with access from Fred Waring Drive. Private vehicles will not be allowed into the park once lots are full.

For the comfort and convenience of attendees, free, air-conditioned shuttle service will be provided between The Gardens on El Paseo and the park, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. The Gardens is located at the corner of El Paseo and San Pablo Avenue. In accordance with public health regulations for public transportation, face masks are required to ride the shuttles.
