The Dr. George Charity Car Show is the main fundraising event of the Palm Springs Cruisin’ Association, an all-volunteer non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote camaraderie among car enthusiasts. The event is open to Street Rods, Classics, Muscle Cars, Special Interest Cars, Trucks, and Motorcycles, and benefits the Desert Cancer Foundation. Held on the grass at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, it's a great setting to enjoy the cars, visit vendors, experience the entertainment and grab a bite to eat.
El Paseo swings into full gear on the first Saturday of February at the Swing ‘N Hops Street Party. This free, featured event of Palm Desert First Weekend will have people dancing in the street--quite literally--to the tunes of the Swing Cats Big Band on a specially set up dance floor.

A native of Buenos Aires, pianist Estela Kersenbaum Olevsky has performed on five continents and collaborated with many distinguished instrumental and vocal soloists as well as diverse chamber music groups such as Berlin Philharmonic Festival Players. “Piano Gems from the Americas” will present a musical travelogue consisting of salon pieces from Argentina, Brasil, Cuba, Mexico and USA.
Matthew Hydzik made his Broadway debut in Grease and later starred in 2009’s revival of West Side Story. He is currently on Broadway as Gregg Allman in Cher: The Musical.
Four great friends - George Smith, Duncan Strachan, Elliot Perks and Colin Scobie - grew up playing classical and folk music together in Scotland. Winners of both the First Prize and Audience Prize in the Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition in Norway, they have held residencies at Oxford University and are well known for their children’s concerts and workshops. Expect to hear the classics, as well as their arrangements of Scottish folk music.
