The Living Desert Zoo & Gardens
Beat the summer heat at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens! Starting June 1, the Zoo opens at 7:00am so guests can enjoy cooler morning temperatures — and closes at 1:30pm (last admission 12:30pm). Start at the Rhino Savanna, home to two critically endangered black rhinos, then head to the giraffe habitat where you can even feed them! Don’t miss the Zoo’s newest arrivals — a troop of patas monkeys — along with Australian Adventures, Wild Americas, and the Hoover Discovery Center. Reserve tickets and choose your arrival time at LivingDesert.org.
Oasis Splash Pad & Bighorn Cafe
Located right next to Bighorn Cafe, the Oasis Splash Pad is a refreshing water play area with plenty of spots for the whole family to relax. Just remember to pack your swimsuits! While you’re there, grab a cold brew coffee or frosty beverage from Bighorn Cafe and see if you can spot some bighorn sheep as you enjoy the spectacular view of Bighorn Mountain. If you’re up for more exploring, there’s plenty left to visit, including Australian Adventures, Wild Americas, and the Hoover Discovery Center.
Shake Shack
You’ve surely worked up an appetite after the morning’s adventures! Head over to El Paseo for a delicious, casual lunch at Shake Shack. Take your pick from fresh burgers (vegetarian options also available), chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, “good fit” meals, and a selection of beer and wine.
