The Rancho Mirage Speaker Series Commission is excited to bring legendary NFL Quarterback, Pro Football Hall of Famer, Four-Time Super Bowl Champion, and Three-Time Super Bowl MVP Joe Montana. Widely considered the best NFL quarterback of all time, Joe Montana personifies performance excellence and personal integrity both on and off the field. Yet the word most closely associated with him is not winner — it’s leader.
Joe Montana led the San Francisco 49ers to seven NFC West titles during the 80s and won Super Bowls XIX, XXIII and XXIV, earning game MVP honors in two of those victories. Most famously, “Joe Cool” shrugged off the mounting pressure of a fourth-quarter deficit against the Bengals in his third Super Bowl, driving his offense 92 yards for the winning touchdown with less than a minute to play. Montana was easily inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000, his first year of eligibility. Arguably the best quarterback in history, he ranked fourth in a list of the game’s all-time top 100 players compiled by the NFL Network in 2010.
