7th Annual Richard M. Milanovich Legacy Hike and 5K Run

March 11, 2022 @ 7:00 am

$10 – $30

Since time immemorial, the Palm Springs area has been home to the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians for generations. Archaeological research has discovered that the Cahuilla have occupied the Tahquitz Canyon for at least 5,000 years, mirroring the migration stories of the Cahuilla People. The Cahuilla Indian name for the Palm Springs area was Sec-he (boiling water), the Spanish who arrived named it Agua Caliente (hot water).

All tickets include entry to the hike / 5K Run, T-Shirt, Hat, Finishing Medal.
Special prizes for top two runners Male / Female categories.

Plan Ahead:
– Wear appropriate clothing for hiking and for weather conditions
– Wear sturdy shoes
– Bring hats, visors, sunglasses and sunscreen
– Bring drinking water
– Keep animals at home. Animals not allowed to stay in vehicles.
– Children Under 5 Free. Only foldable strollers allowed on shuttle buses. It is recommended that infants and toddlers be carried in a child carrier or baby pack.

Benefiting The Richard M. Milanovich Fellowship, it was created in 2015. In 2021, UCLA Native Nations Law & Policy Center and the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians formed a partnership to prepare the next generation of leaders in Indian Country and to honor and preserve the legacy of service and leadership of the late Chairman Richard M. Milanovich.
