Christopher Richardson

The Palm Springs International Piano Competition (PS ipc, formerly The Waring) presents 23-year-old Christopher Richardson in a performance at CVRep on August 4, 2022 at 7 pm. Richardson is a three-time Waring winner: Second Place Concerto, 2022 Senior Division; Waring Bayless Performance Prize – 2015 Intermediate Division; and Second Place Concerto, 2011 Junior Division.

Richardson just returned from performing at the Liszt Museum in Budapest, Hungary and Washington DC, after winning the 2021 Los Angeles International Liszt Competition. In addition to Chopin, Liszt and Stravinsky works, his program will include popular fare such as William Hirtz’s “Fantasy on Harold Arlen’s ‘Wizard of Oz,'” Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” and the jazzy “Tom and Jerry Show” by Hiromi Uehara.

Richardson also won First Prize and Best Chopin Prize at the 2016 MTNA National Competition. He has performed in many venues across the United States, including the 2000-seat Music Tent in Aspen, Carnegie Hall, Finney Chapel, and Benaroya Hall. He will be performing all-Liszt concerts in Budapest, London, and Washington D.C. in 2022.
