Ken Cowan is regarded as one of North America’s finest concert organists and is praised for his artistry, impeccable technique, and imaginative programming. He maintains a rigorous performing schedule that takes him to major concert venues in America, Canada, Europe, and Asia. We are delighted to welcome Ken Cowan back to St. Margaret’s for his third performance on our Quimby organ. A native of Thorold, Ontario, Canada, Mr. Cowan is a graduate of Yale Institute of Sacred Music and the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. He is on the keyboard faculty of the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, where he is Professor of Organ and is Organ Artist-in-Residence at Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas. Of a recent concert in Cleveland, the ClevelandClassical.com said “His playing was nothing short of superb.”
