See the story of Maggie, set in a tiny studio apartment in a big city, where Maggie lives with her working mother. In elementary school Maggie was cruelly bullied by other kids because she could only speak Spanish. Now a high school teen, Maggie refuses to speak Spanish at all; when her grandmother comes to live with them Maggie is re-awakened to, and embarrassed by, her Hispanic roots.
