Coachella Valley Days of Los Muertos is a safe, family-friendly tradition in the Sunnylands gardens. Guests are invited to walk the gardens decorated with giant calaveras (skulls), papel picado (decorative cut paper), nichos (shadow boxes) created by local artists, and ofrendas (altars) designed by local nonprofit organizations.

Then pop the kids into their costumes—you, too, if you like—and join the City of Palm Desert, the Carter Elementary School Cougars and the Desert Sands Unified School District at the free Halloween Costume Cruise Night. The evening promises socially distanced fun as cars promenade up and down El Paseo.

VIRTUAL: Veterans Day Celebration

The City of Palm Desert's special Veterans Day Celebration will be offered virtually on Wednesday, November 11, at 11 a.m. on both the City’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. The program will feature a keynote speaker from the 7th Marine Regiment at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms as well as a patriotic concert performance.

He became notorious for his graffiti art under the moniker Samo in the late 1970s on the Lower East Side scene, sold his first painting to Deborah Harry for $200, and became best friends with Andy Warhol.
