CODA Gallery opens its 37th Season with an exhibition featuring new work from Theodore Gall, Anthony Liggins, and Seth Fairweather, as well as other represented artists. The opening reception is Friday, November 3, from 4 pm to 7 pm, during El Paseo's monthly First Friday ArtWalk. The exhibition continues through November 29.

When I look at a landscape scene I first see the composition of the objects, then the leaves or branches with greens, yellows, blues, browns, oranges, and the bark with the oranges, grays, purples, grass with blues, greens, yellows, oranges, mountains of pale purple and blue, water reflecting the sky, the foliage, and the transparency to the bottom of rocks or sand. Artists train themselves to not just look at a scene but to see all the colors in the scene, and then try to paint it.

CODA Gallery is pleased to present a special exhibition during Fashion Week El Paseo, March 19 - 26: The Costume Design Art of Paula Giokaris.

Michael Steirnagle finds the painting experience to be a total immersion in a sea of lush paint and color which, hopefully, evolve into a pleasurable and meaningful experience for the viewer.

C. Dutch is a graduate of Art Center College of Design and has received numerous awards and acknowledgments for his photographic achievements.

Jamie Perry: Most of my paintings are comprised of two main elements…light and space. A solitary subject illuminated on a vast plane of darkness invites the viewer to feel a sense of isolation, but at the same time, warmth and safety in the light, with freedom to move about in the seemingly boundless space.

Gary Gruber: The photos were taken between 1969 and 1994 -- he did not begin shooting digitally seriously until 2015.

Jay Johansen has mastered a hyper-photorealism style, which he though of as the pinnacle that would earn him respect in the art world. Painting ballerinas, matadors, and Hawaiian dancers, Jay established an international collector base, which ultimately led to commissioned paintings of music icons, world dignitaries, as well as a long list of celebrity collectors.
