Salty was inspired by the true story two male African penguins at a Dutch zoo, who made international headlines in 2019 when they stole an egg from a heterosexual couple. Set sometime in the distant future, Salty tracks the parallel lives of some of the last penguins on the planet and their all too human keepers.
